Waterfowl Management
The most important thing you can do to ensure consistent hunting is to effectively manage your waterfowl.
Most people who have experienced non-productive trips to Arkansas have probably fallen victim to being placed in a blind or area that has been over hunted most likely during both the morning and afternoon.
We have a large number and variety of blinds in fields and timber that we hunt resulting in a high ratio of blinds to the
number of hunting parties we allow at any given time. We do not book a hunt in every blind - every day! We
"Rest" our blinds and hunting areas which allows the ducks time to feed, rest and gain confidence. No more worrying about having to hunt in a blownout blind!
We frown upon afternoon hunting. The quickest way to ruin an area is to hunt it to frequently and in the afternoon. Ducks come back to areas that they fed upon in the afternoon and by denying them of this you effectively deny yourself of good hunting. We provide goose hunts, can arrange outside quail hunts (for an additional cost) and arrange other activities that you can enjoy in the afternoon. This practice is difficult for some people to understand however it is essential to consistent quality hunting. The parties before you sacrificed their afternoon hunts so that you could enjoy more productive morning
hunts.
Who said Arkansas had a water problem?. While others are waiting for rain we are pumping the appropriate fields at the
appropriate time to the appropriate depth. Many others DO NOT follow this practice due to the tremendous expense
associated with the high cost of diesel fuel! You are guaranteed water with our hunts so no more worrying about dry field
duck hunts!
We have food. All of our rice and beans are in for the 2011-2012 season, the flooding did not affect our fields.
By following management practices such as these and others we can provide a more productive Hunting experience with the type ducks you want to kill! Just look at our daily counts they reflect our waterfowl management practices.
