Wounded Veteran As we approach 2016 (it is only a month away), we naturally start thinking of ways to improve ourselves. What do you think a New Year’s resolution is all about? Usually it is around this time that we start thinking of technological innovations that will change our lives, perhaps making them better. One such innovation that is making waves in the hunting world are prosthetic limbs that are giving hunters a second chance at life, a second chance at doing what they love – and what better represents the good-naturedness of the holiday season than giving men and women second chances?

Bionx Medical Technologies is one such company giving men and women second chances. They are making waves in the prosthetic limb industry working with wounded veterans. They are changing lives for the better. Just look at how they are helping with David Bronson, a veteran wounded in Iraq because of an improvised explosive device. Doctors had to amputate part of his leg and Bronson turned to Bionx Medical Technologies and their BiOM Ankle, which is a device that helps amputees with movement and flexibility, to regain control over his life.

When talking to Rob Hawley of CBSNewYork, Bronson says, “It’s crazy how much push-off it has and how natural it feels. I wear it every day. I do everything from playing with my kids in the yard to hunting, golfing, snowmobiling.”

Because of the advancement in prosthetic limb technology, Bronson is still able to do the activities that he loves. Bionx Medical Technologies has given Bronson a second chance at life. Without such a device, who knows where Bronson would be? Hawley writes, “But now he says he does just about everything he can think of to test his limits and the limits of the BiOM Ankle.”

At Pluck-A-Duck Lodge, we salute heroes like Bronson and support groups like Bionx Medical Technologies who give men and women second chances at life. We have seen many veterans come through our lodge and to see the joy in their eyes when they get out there in the open and reconnect with nature, with the heart of all things. You cannot put a price on that.
